ALLIANCE HOME BUILDERS

The right people
make all the difference

For Ryan, building is about more than the finished product. It's about the people who come together to create it.

Ryan Durr
Founder & General Contractor

Founded by second-generation general contractor and Tennessee native, Ryan grew up on commercial construction sites alongside his father. He was fascinated by the process - watching something come from nothing and seeing how the individual strengths of different trades could come together to create something lasting.

One of his first jobs, at the age of 14, was working on his father's job sites, but he wasn't given an upper hand. He started where he would learn to appreciate every position - picking up trash and sweeping floors. It was there that Ryan learned some of the lessons that would ultimately shape Alliance Home Builders. His parents taught him to treat everyone with respect, regardless of their role, and to take a genuine interest in people - their lives, their stories, and how they got to where they are.

After graduating from Baylor University, Ryan returned home to Tennessee and began his career in commercial construction. He began building a strong foundation in the systems, coordination, and attention to detail required to manage complex projects. Over time, opportunities in residential construction began to find their way to him - first through friends and relationships in real estate, and then through a growing number of projects.

What began gradually became a natural evolution of his career, eventually leading Ryan to focus fully on residential construction and the kind of thoughtful, relationship-driven building that would become the foundation for Alliance Home Builders.

"Thoughtful building isn't just about solving problems.
Our experience has taught us to anticipate challenges."

Talbot harlin
project manager

After more than two decades in military and civilian aviation, Talbot reached a point where he felt deeply fulfilled by the career and service he had experienced—but ready for something new. He had spent years leading teams and operating in environments where preparation, precision, trust, and attention to detail mattered. Now, he found himself drawn to work that would put his feet back on the ground and allow him to build something tangible with his hands.

That next chapter began, fittingly, with his own home.

Ryan helped build Talbot’s personal home, and through that experience, the two developed a relationship rooted in a shared appreciation for the building process and the people behind it. Ryan eventually opened the door for Talbot to join Alliance as a project manager.

For Talbot, homebuilding brought together many of the things he had valued throughout his career: teamwork, problem-solving, and the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled people who take pride in their craft. But it also offered something new—the chance to be part of creating something tangible and lasting. A home that will become part of a family’s story for generations.

Talbot brings to Alliance the leadership and discipline shaped by an extraordinary aviation career, including service as a Marine Corps F/A-18 pilot and leader with multiple combat deployments, a TOPGUN graduate, and later as a captain and pilot instructor with Delta Air Lines.

But perhaps most importantly, he brings an appreciation for the collective effort behind doing something exceptionally well—and a belief that the best results come when talented people work together toward a common goal.
